Ms. Sara Merideth
Bonjour! My name is Sara Merideth, and I am the French teacher at SCAPA Bluegrass. After graduating from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, I earned my B.A. in French & International Relations from Roanoke College in Virginia. After deciding that a career in International Law wasn’t actually for me, I settled back in Lexington to earn my M.A. in French Language & Literature from the University of Kentucky. I fell in love with teaching the French language and culture to students, and spent the first 15 years of my career at The Lexington School. While there, I also earned a M.A. in Education and an Ed.S. in Educational Administration and Supervision. I love getting to be a Penguin at SCAPA!
My family is a huge part of who I am, and I love spending time with them! My husband, Tom, is a Firefighter/Paramedic in Lexington; my daughter, Caitlin, is attending Frederick Douglass High School and is a competitive dancer; my son, Colin, is attending the Pre-Engineering program at Leestown and is a competitive gymnast; and my daughter, Vivian, is a spunky 3 ½ year old who loves to chase our two dogs, Buffy and Sadie, and generally rule over the house. I love to read and travel in my spare time, visiting the Outer Banks every summer with my family. I have even been to 21 different countries in Europe, the Americas, and the Caribbean! My dream is to go to India and Morocco one day!
