District Science Fair
Because of trends in positive cases and rate of COVID-19 spread, organizers canceled the 2021 Kentucky American Water / FCPS District Science Fair. “We feel this decision was necessary to best protect the safety of more than 650 students, their families, our school communities, and over 400 adult volunteers who support the event,” said David Helm, K-12 science instructional specialist. Postponing the local contests (slated for Feb. 13) would not have allowed sufficient time before the next stage of competition, and a virtual event was not feasible because of the logistical challenges, technology equity, and limited timeframe.
The Kentucky American Water / Fayette County Public Schools District Science Fair is a countywide competition open to all students in grades 4 through 12 who advance from their school's local contest. Check back here in late 2021 for the 2022 details, including entry rules, judges' criteria, and awards.
