Joe Gibson holds an associate’s degree from the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, a bachelor’s degree from Pikeville College, a master’s degree in secondary education from Georgetown College, and a master’s/Rank 1 certification in Educational Leadership from Eastern Kentucky University.

He spent 12 years as a teacher at Leestown Middle School before moving into an adminstrative role. In that time, he taught sixth-grade Social Studies, was a sixth-grade team lead, and also served as the head coach for the girls' and boys' basketball teams. In June 2015, he received an Outstanding Service Award from the Fayette County Association of Administrators.

Gibson loves Leestown Middle School and is dedicated to making sure all of the students succeed at high levels.
