As the principal of Henry Clay High School, I would like to thank all returning parents/guardians for their support of the school last year, and welcome all new parents/guardians to the Henry Clay High School family. I am looking forward to working with all of you this year in an effort to help your child continue to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Henry Clay High School has a long standing tradition of being one of the state’s best schools. Our faculty and staff will undoubtedly provide your child with rigorous and challenging educational opportunities. We work hard to provide every student with the educational resources they need to help them reach their fullest potential in all avenues of life.

What I want for each student at Henry Clay High School are the exact things I want for my children while they attend school. I want every student to feel safe. No one can function properly in any setting if they do not feel safe. Please communicate with your child frequently to ensure they feel safe at Henry Clay. If anything is preventing your child from being comfortable at school, the sooner we know about it, the sooner we can help.  I want every student to challenge themselves to be the best they can be academically, and more importantly I want them to challenge themselves to be the best citizen they can be. At Henry Clay High School, character is paramount. I want every student to get involved in an extracurricular activity. Students who do so have a much better connection to the school, which more times than not, leads to increased growth academically, socially, and emotionally. I want every student to communicate freely with the staff at Henry Clay in regards to any concern they might have here at school. If the lunch line is taking too long to get through, we want to know. If there is a problem with understanding an academic concept, we want to know. If the bus is not picking up at a consistent time, we want to know. The key is to communicate so we can get students the help they need. Lastly, I want every student at Henry Clay High School to have fun, and lots of it. I rate having fun in school second to feeling safe. While we all know getting an education takes focus and dedication, I firmly believe all students should have fun in the process.

Our mission at Henry Clay High School is to educate and prepare our students for a lifetime of productive citizenship. Working together as educators, parents/guardians, students, and community members, I know we will continue to fulfill this mission.

Please feel free to contact me anytime with any concern you might have about our school. You are always welcome at Henry Clay High School.
