University of Kentucky Summer Youth Program
Dates: June 9-July 21
Pay: $10.40/hour, 15-25 hours per week
The University of Kentucky’s Summer Youth Program allows local Lexington high school students from diverse and/or disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to participate in a six-week career development program.
The program matches participants with departments across campus based on their future career interests. The program provides participants with weekly professional development trainings, resume-building paid work experience, mentorship and the ability to gain familiarity with the UK campus.

- Amteck Quick Start Program
- Adults 18 or older have an opportunity to start work with Amteck by attending our 4-week, paid Quick Start program. The program will train on the fundamentals of basic electricity and other construction applications. Participants will be hired as full-time employees at $15/hr and transition to roles as electricians, low voltage/fire alarm technicians, or other positions at Amteck after completing the program. Amteck will provide the tools needed to start in the electrical trade.

Summer Ignite Student Teacher Residents: Act as teaching assistants to support planning and teaching of summer ignite sessions for middle school and elementary classrooms. As part of the FCPS grow your own initiative and Summer Ignite Program we want to offer PAID internships for student residents to act as teaching assistants for middle school and elementary summer school sessions.
HELP us recruit students that have the potential to be future educators (pathway and non-pathway students). This is an opportunity for students to apply their skills and develop new ones. This initiative is specially designed for males of color to have experience in the education setting to increase interest in the field of teaching.
