Can I drop the class? When can I drop the class? How do I drop the class?
Yes, you can drop your dual credit class. A student can drop the dual credit class completely or remain in the class for high school credit and drop the college credit part of the class.
You can drop the class up to the deadline of each semester. There is a deadline to drop without receiving a W on your college transcript and then there is a deadline to drop the class and receive a W on your transcript. Those dates will be posted in your dual credit class syllabus.
If you decide you want to drop the dual credit class you need to do the following:
1. Talk with your teacher about why you want to drop the class. Do you want to remain in the class for high school credit only or do you want to completely drop the class.
2. Talk with your guidance counselor about your decision as it may impact your class schedule.
3. Your guidance counselor will email the College and Career Coach, Ms. Bates: pamela.bates@fayette.kyschools.us and you will recieve an email about how to drop the college portion of the class.
4. Complete the process Ms. Bates provides you.

Will my dual credit class credits transfer?
Dual Credit classes do transfer to most Kentucky Colleges/Universities. Out of State colleges/universities accept dual credit classes either as the General Education course or as an elective course. To be sure you should also check with the colleges/universities you are applying to. They have Transfer Equalvancy pages on their website.
Here is an example:
University of Kentucky:
https://www.uky.edu/registrar/transfer-equivalency
When meeting with Admissions Counselors from the college/university you should ask about dual credit transfer.
We selected the courses and the universities we use for dual credit because of the simplicity of transfer credits and the academic integrity of the courses.
