Canvas Protocols

  • The district is requiring all middle schools to use Canvas as its Learning Management System.  In order to access Canvas, students should log into Google, and utilizing the "waffle" select Canvas from the menu.

    Once students log into Canvas, their dashboard will be pre-loaded with their schedules.  Tutorials will be available on our website and the district website to help parents and student navigate this new platform. 

    You will notice much more consistency with our courses, than we had with Google Classroom.  Each module will be named for the week, and each lesson and activity will be titled the day of the week assigned followed by the activity title.  For example, you would see Week 2: August 31-September 4 as a module.  Under that title, you would see an assignment, for example Monday, August 31: Social Studies Quiz 1. 

    This naming convention will be carried over to Infinite Campus as well.  Each Thursday, you will receive a missing assignment report for your student.  With this naming convention, you should very easily locate the assignment in Canvas, should you student be missing any work.
