One of the great aspects of the Summit Program is mentoring. All LTMS students have been assigned a specific adult in the building to advocate for their success. Trained mentors meet weekly with their assigned students. Yes, your child's academics are a primary focus, but a pivotal piece is forming connections with caring adults in our school. Strong positive relationships are an integral part of improving student success academically and social-emotionally.
Please check in with your child and ask him or her about his/her mentor. Take this opportunity to talk with your child about what goals he/she has set with his/her mentor’s support. The process isn’t adults telling students what to do, but working together to allow the student to problem-solve to achieve thehis/her goals. We welcome you to be a part of that team having dialogues about your child’s learning and progress.
