College and Career Center Happenings this week and October
Wednesday, September 28th is our second session of the ACT Test Prep Workshop. Students will meet 12-2 pm. They have received an email reminder and I will send out a roster of those attending and also an email on those actually in attendance.
Friday, September 30th- EKU Campus Visit- We have 60 students signed up for a campus experience trip. A roster was sent earlier and I will send another one Thursday. We are excited to have this many sign up to attend. Students are aware they are responsible for all work missed.
October 11th Free Scholarship Workshop for Seniors and Juniors during 1st and 4th block in the libray. Sean Smith from The College Project will be facilitating two sessions on Scholarships- How to Search and Find Scholarships for College. Students may sign up:
FAFSA Friday- October 14th- Seniors needing assistance with the FAFSA application may come to the CCC for assistance.
October 20th: College and Career Navigation Night for Parents and Students (9th-12th grade).
We are excited to host our College and Career Navigation Night again this year! Our goal is to help parents and students navigate together their high school years and to prepare for life after graduation. We hope you will mark your calendars and attend this event full of information on a variety of topics.

Safe Kids Teen Driving
Presenter: Sherri Hannan- UK's Safe Kids by Children's Hospital
Driving is dangerous for everyone, but it is most dangerous for newly licensed drivers. Safe Kids Fayette County, a program of Kentucky Children's Hospital, is presenting the Kentucky Checkpoints Teen Driver Safety Program.
This presentation can help families manage risk associated with teen driving such as risky behaviors, driving offenses, and motor vehicle crashes

October 25th- Gary R. Martin Regional College and Career Fair (Flyer attached)
100 Seniors from each high school will be attending this event 9:30 am-12:30 pm at Central Bank. If you have a senior interested please have them email me.
5:30pm-7:30 pm the event will open up to juniors and seniors. Free Parking at Gate #2 on West High Street. Students needing FAFSA Assistance or help completing a job application can attend starting at 4:30 pm by registering. Students can use the following link:

- Requesting Transcripts: Seniors, you will need to request the following transcripts during your senior year:
High School- Colleges need a transcript when you apply and they will need your final transcript with your graduation date
Dual Credit- If you have taken dual credit classes you will need to request the transcript be sent from the college awarding you the college credit.
AP- If you took the AP exam and will be receiving college credit, you will need to send a transcript
