    Watts entered the education field in 2000 after working for seven years in the restaurant business. He received his teaching certificate and master’s degree through the MAT program at Northern Kentucky University and later earned a master’s in leadership, supervisor of instruction, and superintendent certification. Watts has worked in diverse districts, including as an English teacher and dean of discipline at Holmes Middle School, an assistant principal at Conner High School, and principal at Newport High School. He led Newport out of PLA (persistently low achieving) status and showed consistent growth for four consecutive years. Watts also worked for the Kentucky Department of Education as an educational recovery leader. In FCPS, he now serves Bryan Station, Crawford, Edythe J. Hayes, Jessie Clark, and Winburn middle schools.
