Battle of the Books is a competative reading incentive program designed to encourage students to read a variety of quality literary works deemed appropriate for a particular age group.
During NTI we will meet virtually via Zoom on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month as noted below with Google Classroom as our learning management system. Once school resumes we will meet in the library BEFORE school (8:00-8:45 am) on designated Fridays (dates TBA). While participants are NOT required to attend meetings, those who attend may have a better chance of qualifying for participation in the school tournament in April/May.- Students may begin preparing by reading the 15 selected titles- most of which are available both digitally and in print format from our school library and from the Lexington Public Library.
- Students should join our Battle of the Books online classroom and become familiar with all posted content. (classroom code/link TBA)
- Participants are encouraged to write 24 practice questions while reading each of the 15 titles phrased with "In which book does/did/are/is...?"
- Participation permission forms will be available in the BMS library once we return to school.
