  • Bearcat Camp for New 6th Graders 

    All incoming 6th graders are invited to come learn more about BSMS middle school.  Teachers and staff will lead students through activities that help them be ready for the first day of school.  (This program was called Destination Middle School in the past.)  We will hold a parent meeting at 5:30 for questions and information about preparing your middle schooler.  We hope to see all our new students and parents!

    Box Tops for Education - Our school is collecting “Box Tops for Education” as a fundraiser.  Box Tops can be found on General Mills products, including Pillsbury, Betty Crocker, Green Giant, Yoplait, Progresso, Old El Paso, Pop Secret, Ziploc, Nature Valley, and many others. Box Tops can be sent to the library or placed in Mrs. Brewer's mailbox throughout the year.  Help our school earn more money with the Box Top app.  Box Top App Instructions

  • Full Circles Foundation Middle School Strong Camp

  • Study Skills Boot Camp

    Grades 8-12, Monday, August 6, 5:00-7:00 pm, $30 --- Join Carnegie’s College Prep Mentor Beth Murner for our inaugural Study Skills Boot Camp! Our goal is to empower students with effective study skills so that the next school year will be their best. Topics will include organization; time management and prioritization; creating a good study space; how to study actively; and improving reading comprehension. Students will work individually and in groups during this dynamic, motivational boot camp. Beth Murner, Carnegie Center College Prep Mentor, has worked with hundreds of satisfied study skills students.     Individual teachers hold thier own tutoring hours.  ESS Services are also available.

    Live Homework Help - Go to for the direct link or go to and  click on "Teens" or "Kids", then look for "Live Homework Help".  Spanish speaking tutors are available from 2-10 pm for science, math, and social studies.  English speaking tutors are available for even more subjects and more hours.   Tutors are available for Kindergarten through adults. also has a paid service but going through the library is free with a library card.

    Parents may check your child's Accelerated Reader account by using Home Connect. Email Melissa Brewer for your child's log-on information.  Students and parents may check the database to see which books are AR. The database currently holds over 200,000 AR tests.  6th grade students will set up this account within the first week of school.

  • Congratulations Cheerleaders!!!

    These ladies did it again!!!  They competed at Battle of the Bluegrass and won 2nd Place!!  Along with their 2nd place finish they received a banner as well as a partially paid bid to Nationals in Florida in April.  We are so excited!!!  Thank you all for your support in helping these girls be outstanding student athletes!!

    BSMS had three students audition for the CKYO Jazz Repertory orchestra and all three were accepted!!!  Way to go Bearcats!!!!!!
