  • All County Honors Band

    BSMS shines at All County Honors Band auditions!  Congratulations to our students accepted as well as the 6 students placed as alternates!  Accepted were:  Landon Hodge, Wesley Doyle, Frances Kilgore, Noah Shofner, Jett Norton, Evelyn Real, Isa Martinez, Valeria Culp Millan, Josiah Ramage, Adrianna Dick, Emery Nathaniel, Sarah Ferguson, & Joey Hicks!  Alternates are:  Jack Hollingshead, Jasmine Bentley, Sophia Logan, Jackie Robinson, Patrick Real, & Shaun Kendall!  Congratulations All!

  • Track & Field Parent Meeting

    Track & Field informational parent meeting will be on March 4th at 6:00- 7:30 pm.

  • Lafayette High School AP Night 

    On Tuesday, January 29th at 6 pm Lafayette High School will host an AP Night for parents to learn more about Advanced Placement and Dual Credit Courses for 2019-2020.  BCTC Dual Credit Representative will be available to answer questions in Room 207.

  • Lafayette Orientation for 8th Graders 

    Save the date!  Tuesday, January 22nd at Lafayette High School is orientation night for 8th graders.  At 5:30, tables will be set up for inforamtion about clubs, athletics, music programs, and academic opportunities such as AP courses, electives, SCAPA, and Pre-Engineering.  At 6:30, Lafayette Principals will present and have questions and answers time.  Inclement weather date is Thursday, January 24th.

  • Valentine's Day Dance

    PTSA will be having a Valentine's Dance Friday, February 8th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm.  In order to attend this dance students must follow certain guidelines from January 14th - February 8th.  No in-school or out-of-school suspensions.  No Fs or Ds on your progress report.  Follow the dress code for the dance.  The dance is semi-formal.  Boys may wear very nice black jeans or dress pants, a plaid or solid colored button up shirt.  Girls wear a nice dress, button down blouse or dresses that do not show any skin from the neck down to the knees.  Ticket are $5 and go on sale January 15th.  No Refunds.  Sales will be in the office before and after school.

  • ABC Night - Parent Night 

    ABC Night and the Chili Cook-Off  is Thursday, January 24th with everything starting at 4:45 pm. Dinner is free for BSMS families.  Please let PTSA know if you are going to participate in the cook-off.  We are in need of donations. Everything can be dropped off Thursday morning, January 24th. PTSA will be selling drinks, chips, and candy at the concession stand that day. 

    We are in need of:  Sour Cream-6 tubs/tubes; Shredded Cheese-7 packs, Chives-6, Crackers-10/12 boxes, Bowls, Spoons, & Napkins

  • PTSA Fundraiser Kendra Scott Jewelry

    Our next PTSA fundraiser is February 10th at Kendra Scott Jewelry store 120 Summit @ Fritz Farm from 2 pm - 5 pm. Click here for the invitation flyer.  This is one day only event.  Come for Sips, Sweets, and Jewelry!  They have something for every age group. All purchases must be made from the store in order for BSMS PTSA to get the credit. You can go online at and check out all they have and call the store at 859-475-1880 to make your purchase. Shipping is FREE.

    Box Tops for Education - Our school is collecting “Box Tops for Education” as a fundraiser.  Box Tops can be found on General Mills products, including Pillsbury, Betty Crocker, Green Giant, Yoplait, Progresso, Old El Paso, Pop Secret, Ziploc, Nature Valley, and many others. Box Tops can be sent to the library or placed in Mrs. Brewer's mailbox throughout the year.  Help our school earn more money with the Box Top app.  Box Top App Instructions

    Individual teachers hold thier own tutoring hours.  ESS Services are also available.

    Live Homework Help - Go to for the direct link or go to and  click on "Teens" or "Kids", then look for "Live Homework Help".  Spanish speaking tutors are available from 2-10 pm for science, math, and social studies.  English speaking tutors are available for even more subjects and more hours.   Tutors are available for Kindergarten through adults. also has a paid service but going through the library is free with a library card.
