  • Book Drive

    Book drive benefitting the International Book Project Do you need to clean off your bookshelves? Starting March 1st TCMS will have a book drive. All acceptable books donated will go to the International Book Project, which sends books to countries with high rates of illiteracy to teach people how to read. During March check the main lobby for the box that says International Book Project and drop your books, which need to be in excellent condition, straight in! They do not accept Outdated (before 2000) or incomplete encyclopedia sets, Religious/Evangelical Books, Magazines, or Workbooks/Prepbooks. But anything else will be gladly accepted and used for good. Bring in your books in a grocery bag with your name and 1st period teacher on it to have a chance at 5 dollars, that is right whoever brings in the most books by April 30th will win 5 dollars.

  • Female athletes partner with UK Sports Medicine researchers

    Tates Creek MS Girl Athletes Partners with the UK Sports Medicine Research Institute Tates Creek Middle School athletes recently took part in the Active Women's Health Initiative on the UK campus, which aims to empower Kentucky women to pursue physical health and wellness. The students participated in interactive activities such as balance testing, body composition, cardiovascular endurance, and movement analysis.

  • TCMS Talent Show Auditions

    TCMS Talent Show Auditions Talent Show auditions will be held on Thursday March 21st immediately after school in Mrs. Graham's room (401). Any school appropriate talent is welcome! Remember that dancing and singing aren't the only talents out there! Got jokes? Write and perform a comedy set! Love acting? Perform a monologue or a scene! Play an instrument! Juggling! Magic tricks! Art! Rap! Gymnastics! We can accommodate almost anything! Think outside the box.

    Have a talented friend? Encourage them to audition!

    Sign ups for time slots will be outside Mrs. Graham's room (401) beginning Wednesday March 6th.

  • VolunTeens – Let’s Get Started!


    Summer is always a great time! And, summer is an exciting time around the hospital because of teen volunteers, ages 14 - 18. At Baptist Health we call them VolunTeens. One of several purposes of the Baptist Health Lexington’s VolunTeen Program is to provide career development opportunities for members of the community interested in becoming a registered nurse or another member of the healthcare team.

    Step 1: Visit www.bhlexvolunteers.com to apply. Applications open Monday, February 11th, 2019. Applications are received until April 14th, or until capacity is reached.

    Step 2: Set up an interview date/time for April 2, April 3, April 4, or April 27 by calling (859) 260-2500. Calls to set up interviews are only accepted on Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm only.

    Step 3: Attend Interview – even returning VolunTeens.

    Step 4: Attend Mandatory Orientation on either June 5th OR June 27th. If you are unable to complete orientation prior to start date, please do NOT apply.

    You will need to bring three items with you to your interview:

    1. The VolunTeen Forms located at www.bhlexvolunteers.com , must be completed and signed by a parent.
    2. Documentation of MMR.
    3. A copy of your TB skin test administered in 2019.

    Remember, before anyone can begin volunteering, each VolunTeen must attend the orientation - even returning VolunTeens.

    Below are the session dates:
    Session One - June 10th – June 28th, 2019
    Session Two - July 8th – July 26th, 2019

    So come on…let’s get started! Have your student apply now!
