Darryl D. Thompson
Acting Equity Officer
Thompson, who is a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, provides technical assistance and guidance for districtwide initiatives that foster equity in education, seek to close achievement gaps, increase cultural responsiveness, engage families and the community, and improve minority recruitment and employee retention. He also works closely with School-Based Decision Making councils and the district’s Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise initiative, which aims to increase diversity among FCPS vendors and suppliers, and his team has an additional focus on Educating Boys of Color.
Thompson received his B.A. in English with a minor in Criminal Justice from Kentucky State University. He has also worked in Franklin County Public Schools and with the Kentucky Department of Education.
