School Announcements

Lucy Waterbury (parent), Jason Edwards (parent), and Jennifer Russell (teacher) were elected as members of the SBDM Council in May 2020.   However, our Council must include a minority representative and none of the current Council members meets the criteria for minority membership.  The law defines “minority” as American Indian, Alaskan native, African-American, Hispanic, including persons of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, and Central or South American origin, Pacific Islander, or other ethnic group under-represented in the school.”

Kentucky Statute states that if the Council does not have a minority member, the principal “shall be responsible for…organizing a special election to elect a minority parent to the Council.”  A minority candidate must meet the following criteria:  1) be a parent, stepparent, foster parent, or other person who has legal custody of a student who attends Glendover; 2) does not work at Glendover or is the mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband, or wife of someone who works at Glendover; does not work in the district administrative offices or is the mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband, or wife of someone who works in the district administrative offices; is a local board member or the spouse of a local board member.

If you meet the above criteria and are interested in serving on Glendover’s SBDM Council as a minority member, please send your name, a short biography, and the name(s) and grade(s) of your children to Dr. Fine ( by 5:00 pm on Thursday, July 9, 2020.

Candidates will be announced and the election will held the week of July 13.  More specific information about the procedure for this will be sent out closer to the election time.

  • Glendover Kindergarten Registration

To enroll your child in kindergarten for 2020-21, families may begin the online process at Kindergarten Registration (The child must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 1 to start kindergarten this fall. Also, to determine your child’s school, use the School Site Locator Tool)

After submitting the online form, families must then collect all required paperwork and go to Glendover to complete the enrollment. Because all schools and offices are closed to the public at this time, school staff will then contact each family for a time to complete their paperwork after the social distancing guidelines are lifted.

     Required Paperwork:

    • Child's birth certificate or other reliable proof of identity
    • Parents ID
    • Two proofs of residence, such as a property deed or current lease agreement in your name, and a secondary document such as a current utility bill or a current tax bill or receipt
