VPE Student Enrichment Opportunities
The following clubs will take place every Wednesday from 2:35 p.m.-3:45 p.m. from October 9- November 13 (the exception will be photography club which will be on Friday afternoons). Signups will be posted online on the VPE website starting on Wednesday, October 2 at 8:00 a.m (look under School Announcements). Signing up online DOES NOT guarantee your child a spot in the club. Names will be drawn randomly from the list and those students will be notified if they are enrolled in the club. This is NOT first come, first serve. Club sign ups will end on October 4.

School-Based Decision-Making Council and Committee Membership
Veterans Park Elementary School-Based Decision-Making Council is made up of elective parents, teachers and the principal. The council seeks input from various committees within the school to assist them in obtaining information about the school and developing policies.
Last year the council spent countless hours revamping the committee policy to allow for the most efficient use of time and parent involvement. The following committees are seeking parent involvement and will meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 3:00 p.m. in September-April except for December.

September Spirit Project
For our September Spirit Project, VPE is partnering with the Kentucky Blood Center to host a blood drive at the school on Tuesday, September 24th from 12pm-6pm. Please stop in the front office or visit our Blood Drive website to reserve a time to donate. Walk-ins will be welcome on the day of the blood drive as well. The class with the most donors will celebrate with lunch in the courtyard!! Please consider donating to save a life!
State law now requires all students to be immunized for Hepatitis A and for students 16 and older to receive the Meningococcal ACWY (MCV4) vaccine, so families might need to provide a new immunization certificate for their student. Students not in compliance may be excluded from attendance, especially in the event of widespread illness. If you are unsure if your student's records are up-to-date, please check with the school.
Extra Extra read all about it...Well now you can on our new Veterans Park APP that is available for download on ITunes or Google Play. The APP is free (search Veterans Park) and to sign up as a parent you will need the passcode 3813161 (our school phone number). The VPE APP will also help in providing calendar information, specials rotation day, PTA updates, classroom/club information as well as much more. Please make sure to click for push notifications when you sign up to help us in providing information to families such as school closing/delays, VPE events and other parent focused information.
