Yearbook Cover Contest
This year at Veterans Park we are having a contest for the cover of the yearbook. All VPE students are welcome to submit their artwork. Entries will be judged by a panel of judges made up of Principal Dabney, teachers and PTA to determine a winner who will receive a free 19-20 yearbook. Click this flyer for more details!
National PTA Reflections Program
PTA Reflections is a nationally acclaimed student recognition program to encourage artistic creativity in the classroom and at home. Students of all grades and abilities may participate and explore the arts based on the 2019-2020 theme: Look Within. All entries will be judged by professionals not associated with VPE and winners will move on to the district competition.
Students may participate in one of six different categories: Dance Choreography, Photography, Film Production, Musical Composition, Literature or Visual Arts. NOTE: 50% of the judging rubric is how well the work matches the theme. Students may NOT enter a "group" entry. If a student choreographs a dance and has several friends in a dance piece, only the choreographer may enter. At the district level, a student may have one entry per category, but they may enter more than one category.
At the elementary level, there are three divisions: Primary: K-Grade 2, Intermediate Grades 3-5 and Special Needs. Pick up an entry form in the library if you are interested in participating. The deadline for entries is Wednesday, October 16th. This is a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate all of the artistic talent we have at VPE! If you have questions, please contact Justine Dziubla at firstname.lastname@example.org.

As a point of clarification the hat appears to be two toned and it solid gray.
State law now requires all students to be immunized for Hepatitis A and for students 16 and older to receive the Meningococcal ACWY (MCV4) vaccine, so families might need to provide a new immunization certificate for their student. Students not in compliance may be excluded from attendance, especially in the event of widespread illness. If you are unsure if your student's records are up-to-date, please check with the school.
