  • Register for BSMS Soccer

    Register for BSMS soccer on the YMCA website.   
    Soccer Practice will be on Mondays from 5:15 to 6:15 at High Street/North YMCA,  239 E. High Street, Lexington Kentucky, 40507
    Practice starts the week of March 25.  Games start April 13. All players will need to provide their own shin guards. This age group will be practicing and playing with a size 5 soccer ball. League may be combined with other branches and games may be played at different branch locations.  Mr. Miranda in Room 159 has a form placed next to his door to pick up outside of the classroom.  This is for students who are on reduced lunch to get a reduced charge on the YMCA charge to play soccer.  Contact Mr. Miranda with questions.

  • UK Engineering Opportunities

    UK invites students to learn more about engineering and participate in STEM activities.  

    February 17th - Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day - (Middle School Girls) - Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day, or “Girl Day,” is for middle school girls and their parents. Attending girls will be participating in fun, hands-on activities designed to encourage their interest in STEM. Activities will be facilitated by the Kentucky Science Center in an exciting festival atmosphere. While girls are participating in activities, there will be special workshops for parents, too! The next Girl Day is February 17, 2019. 

    February 21st - Women in Engineering Day - (High School Girls) - During Women in Engineering (WIE) Day, high school women grades 10-12 will interact with alumni, faculty, staff and students as they explore UK Engineering. Learn about the process of applying to UK, listen in as female faculty members discuss their experience as a woman in engineering and engage with current leaders in the UK Society of Women Engineers. The next WiE is March 19, 2019.

    February 23rd - E-Day (all ages) - Engineers Day, or E-Day, is a celebration of everything engineering has to offer. From building bridges to discovering new medications to writing the software that powers our cell phones, engineers and computer scientists do the things that make our 21st-century world work. The next E-Day celebration is Saturday, February 23, 2019.

    May 18-19th - Go Girl!  Engineering Sleepover (Grades 2-4)

  • Name the Walking Trail

    Council-member,  CM Evans, has given our school the opportunity to name the upcoming Bryan Station Neighborhood Walking Trail.  The trail will be installed this summer throughout the Bryan Station neighborhood to help residents see the best walking/bike routes along with mileage.  This is a great way to get our neighborhood out and getting physical activity.  This project will be implemented by Lexington’s Parks & Recreation Department.  Please fill out this form to submit a name by March 1st.

  • Valentine's Day Dance Rescheduled 

    PTSA has rescheduled the Valentine's Dance for Friday, February 22nd from 5:30 - 7:30 pm.  In order to attend, you can't has Safe or any suspensions.  No D's or F's on your progress report and follow the semi-formal dress code.  Boys may wear nice black jeans, dress pants, plaid or solid colored button up shirt.  Girls may wear nice dress pants, button down blouse, or dresses that do not show any skin from the neck down to the knees.

  • Beta Club

    BSMS has started a Junior Beta Club!  This is an honors club that focusses on leadership and service to others. The BETA Club will meet on Thursdays at 4:00 in the library. The membership is by invitation only to students who have had all a’s and B’s  all year long. We had 182 students invited to join.  We look forward to having lots of fun while learning and growing our leadership skills and fine tuning our abilities in all areas. Congratulations to those invited! It is indeed an honor! Thank you to Mrs. Swartz and Mrs. Santiago for becoming sponsors of this program!  Beta Club meets on Thursdays after school.

    Presale for 2018-2019 Bryan Station Middle yearbooks has begun. The presale yearbook price is $15.00 and will last until 4/12/19. After 4/12/19 yearbooks will be available for sale when they arrive in May for $20.00. Presale orders can be made at the following link.

  • BSHS Open House for 8th Graders

    8th Grade Open House that will take place on March 27th at 6pm. This event is designed to give our feeder middle school students and families the opportunity to learn a little more about BSHS and how they can start to get connected. As part of this event, we will provide information on our academies, clubs, sports offerings, and special programs.  We will also give families information on the support services offered here at Bryan Station High School, such as our CARE center, Youth Service Center, and Ridge program.

  • District Science Fair Winners

    All winning students are invited to be honored at the LFUCG meeting by Mayor Linda Gorton, Vice Mayor Steve Kay, and the LFUCG Council on Thursday, February 21st, 2019. 

    All winning students have earned the privilege of advancing to the 16th Annual Central Kentucky Regional Science and Engineering Fair (CKRSEF), a part of the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) system, the largest pre-college science competition in the world.  The CKRSEF will be held March 2, 2019 at Paul L. Dunbar High School in Lexington.

  • Congratulations BSMS Academic Team!!

    BSMS Academic Team placed 2nd in the district this year!!  The team will compete at the regional competition.  We are very proud of our coaches and students!  A huge shout out to these students:  Zach Oliver who placed in the district in in Math & Arts & Humanities; Landon Hodge placed in Science & Social Studies; Emerson Farrar placed in Arts & Humanities.  Great Job Bearcats!!!

    Individual teachers hold thier own tutoring hours.  ESS Services are also available.

    Live Homework Help - Go to http://www.lexpublib.org/sites/default/dbforward.php?dbname=6761 for the direct link or go to www.lexpublib.org and  click on "Teens" or "Kids", then look for "Live Homework Help".  Spanish speaking tutors are available from 2-10 pm for science, math, and social studies.  English speaking tutors are available for even more subjects and more hours.   Tutors are available for Kindergarten through adults.  Tutor.com also has a paid service but going through the library is free with a library card.
