EL teachers take extra steps to accommodate kindergarteners
Imagine starting kindergarten during a pandemic – unable to hug new teachers or settle in to new surroundings. Then imagine the 5-year-olds for whom English is not their primary language at home. English Learner teachers in Fayette County Public Schools have done their best to smooth the transition to school for these youngsters amid the COVID-19 restrictions and distance learning. At Rosa Parks Elementary, Ashleigh Adkins moved a few of her screenings all the way to the child’s front door.
Do you need tech or Chromebook help?
1. Check out the RPE Parent Support page, which has lots of video tutorials with common NTI-2DL topics.
2. Call the FCPS Help Desk at 381-4410, Monday-Friday 7AM-8PM. They can often help you troubleshoot over the phone.
Thank you for having patience with us!

Helpful resources in uncertain times
RPE counselors are also available to assist in making resource referrals. Please let us know how we can support you and your family during this challenging time:
FCPS Family Resource and Youth Service Centers are available to help any family with basic necessities. Because Rosa Parks Elementary does not have a FRYSC, families in need of basic necessities are encouraged to call one of the centers closest to our school (listed below). You're also welcome to donate to others in need.
