  • Thanksgiving food drive underway

    Happy Thanksgiving | Ironwood Custom Builders

    RPE’s Counseling Office is collecting food to help families over Thanksgiving break. Please bring your donations to school by Wednesday, Nov. 18. You can also email Katie Havelda or Brandy Gordon to arrange a porch pick-up.

  • EL teachers take extra steps to accommodate kindergarteners

    Ashleigh Adkins Imagine starting kindergarten during a pandemic – unable to hug new teachers or settle in to new surroundings. Then imagine the 5-year-olds for whom English is not their primary language at home. English Learner teachers in Fayette County Public Schools have done their best to smooth the transition to school for these youngsters amid the COVID-19 restrictions and distance learning. At Rosa Parks Elementary, Ashleigh Adkins moved a few of her screenings all the way to the child’s front door.

    1.  Check out the RPE Parent Support page, which has lots of video tutorials with common NTI-2DL topics.


    2.  Call the FCPS Help Desk at 381-4410, Monday-Friday 7AM-8PM.  They can often help you troubleshoot over the phone.

    RPE Families - is your student in need of a Chromebook and/or internet access?  If so, please complete this form to request a Chromebook or internet hotspot.  


    Currently, we are awaiting another shipment of Chromebooks from FCPS.  If you fill out this form, you will be on a waitlist for a Chromebook and someone will contact you when one is available.

    FCPS Family Resource and Youth Service Centers are available to help any family with basic necessities. Because Rosa Parks Elementary does not have a FRYSC, families in need of basic necessities are encouraged to call one of the centers closest to our school (listed below). You're also welcome to donate to others in need.
