  • FAQ

Who can participate in Summer Bridge?

All FCPS students who have completed preschool through eighth grade have access to the Summer Bridge platform and can participate in the online learning. We are excited to offer additional support to students who are identified by their schools as someone who could benefit from teacher-led support during the summer sessions, grouped by grade level.

    Why do Summer Bridge?

Students can reduce math and language literacy learning gaps by participating in continued learning through the summer. Our goal is for students to begin the 2020-21 school year with increased confidence in their skills.

Is Summer Bridge programming like NTI work?

Summer Bridge is designed to be an independent learning opportunity for students. While adults might need to help younger students log in to the portal initially, the online lessons are self-contained and meant to require little or no involvement from parents or caregivers.

    What materials will students need?

Students need access to a computer, an internet connection, and paper and pencils. If you have concerns about access to needed materials, please contact your school directly.

What do we get from participating in Summer Bridge?

Beyond the incredible learning opportunity, FCPS offers games and incentives as students and families meet their goals.

Is a student required to do both sessions?

Students whose school has asked them to participate should follow the school's guidance. Children who sign up on their own may participate when and how they choose.

    Have additional questions?
