Staff Spotlight: Sandra L. Grayson

Third-grade teacher, Julius Marks Elementary

My philosophy has always been that learning and the gathering of knowledge are life-long processes that contribute greatly to the people we are and ultimately become. Because we carry the knowledge and skills we acquire in school into all aspects of our lives, education is the building block of the self.

As educators, our primary job is to encourage children not only to be life-long learners, but also to enjoy learning. Education should be a positive, fulfilling experience that enriches the lives of all students and gives them the desire to learn. Once one ceases to learn, life is no longer productive.
