I believe that learning is a process and that part of the process involves a high degree of difficulty and possible student frustration. Overcoming this degree of difficulty, whether it be related to a skill, concept or process, is the most rewarding for students, both intellectually and personally. Education needs to hurt a little bit. The best way to engage students is to help them understand how to engage themselves in the learning process.
