Staff Spotlight: Temicula B. Allen
Family Resource Center coordinator, Lansdowne Elementary

I truly enjoy my job! Each day is unique and is as diverse as the population of students we serve at Lansdowne.
I take the motto “It’s about kids” to heart. It's my responsibility to make sure students come to school prepared to learn with whatever tools are necessary, be it medical care, school supplies, food or clothing.
Family Resource Centers were created to decrease the barriers that keep children from learning. At Lansdowne, I make it my mission to talk with families, staff, students and the community to increase the support for children so they can all reach their highest potential.
I also find joy in getting to know the students at school. I might not work with all of them personally, but I try to learn as many names as possible. Building relationships is important to helping students achieve, and that's just another way the Family Resource Center breaks down barriers.
