Special education paraeducator, Glendover Elementary

I have worked for Fayette County schools for 14 years, and the past 11 in special education have been especially rewarding. The teachers have made me an integral part of their team and value my contributions. The collaboration I have experienced enables me to provide the best instructional support possible for my students.

Through the years, I have enjoyed working with each and every one of my students. I believe it is truly about the kids we teach. We come together to get the most from their special abilities. All children need encouragement, compassion and patience to understand their unique qualities and help them to contribute to their school community and their education in their own individual way.

I love seeing my students succeed both academically and socially. The kids are what keep me coming back year after year. I have found my heart in special education.
