Staff Spotlight: Colette Myers

Ashland Elementary; kindergarten

"Five-year-olds are the most exciting age to teach. The level of enthusiasm from the children is contagious. Everyone who experiences a kindergarten classroom cannot help but smile.

"I try to make my teaching a reflection of the children. I engage the children with experiences that are not only exciting but also challenging to their higher levels of thinking.

"I must say, the best part of teaching kindergarten is watching the children’s amazing growth from August to May -- academically, socially, physically and emotionally. Being a kindergarten teacher is truly is a joy!"
