Staff Spotlight: Margarett Livingston

Paraeducator, Tates Creek Elementary

"I am a paraeducator who works with first- and second-grade students in various intervention groups such as reading, handwriting, math and spelling. I strongly believe that every child has the ability to learn. The goal of my small reading groups is for the students to reach the next reading level. My joy comes from their “aha” moments, when the students reach a goal that we’ve set together. A classic example is when I see their expressions of ‘I can’t believe I made 100 percent on a spelling test!’ after we’ve completed a spelling intervention.

"I love motivating students to go beyond the classroom expectations. It’s so rewarding when these students are committed and motivated within and beyond the classroom for success. I also like working with a staff of educators who allow flexibility to multitask projects while making every minute count."
