Staff Spotlight: Allison Givan
Breckinridge Elementary; instructional coach/critical thinking skills teacher

"What we do in the classroom should be memorable not as a result of drill and practice, but as a result of engaging students in ways that make learning fun. There is no reason why the two cannot go hand in hand. The context in which a lesson is taught is just as important as the content. My goal is to always deliver instruction in a way that motivates students to become lifelong learners. Therefore, it is critical that in the earliest stages of educational development, students are taught in a way that is enjoyable to them as well as applicable to their daily lives."
"What we learn with pleasure, we never forget." -- Alfred Mercier
