"The positive learning culture that has been built into Dixie through the years is a perfect reflection of my belief in teaching children. As teachers, it is important to understand each student as an individual and build a strong, positive relationship. I believe a strong relationship is a key component to student success. When a family-like atmosphere is embedded into a school’s climate and good relationships are present, students have a sense of belonging and feel a responsibility to uphold their role within the school family. It is also important to communicate our expectations with students and encourage them to continually set goals for themselves. Students will perform as high as we expect them to perform and will behave as well as we expect them to behave. It is important for students to know that we believe in them."
