“My vision of the media center is an exciting learning environment where students can explore their own interests as well as curriculum content, where teachers can find materials to enhance student learning and where the media specialist is working with all members of the learning community to improve student achievement and to create life-long readers.

“I thoroughly enjoy the many facets of my job. Upon entering the media center, you may see that I am teaching a class about the ethical uses of the internet, or locating resources for teachers, helping individual students find books of interest, promoting school-wide reading contests or helping with instructional technology. I love the challenge of providing for the diverse needs of the school in a fun and creative way, but the best part of my job will always be seeing a child’s face come alive as they discover the excitement of reading a good book!”
