Our school, which opened in 1958, is named for the pioneers of Bryan Station Springs and Fort. We field our athletic teams as the Defenders in remembrance of the courage and valor of those early settlers. The original school building was erected on 14.5 acres of rolling bluegrass land. After many additions and renovations, the school board voted unanimously in 2002 to build a state-of-the-art high school to replace the aging building.

In January 2007, our $43.9 million school opened with much fanfare. It features a grand two-story lobby with the original terrazzo school crest inlaid in the foyer, 54 classrooms with an abundance of natural light, 12 college-level physics, biology and chemistry labs, and an arts wing housing art, orchestra, band, and ensemble rooms.

With a nod to those who have come before us and an eye toward where we are heading, the school motto is "Defending the tradition, defining the future."

What makes our school special

Our school is blessed with a wonderfully diverse student population and committed faculty and staff members who care about each student as an individual. Our rich tradition and vibrant community, family and alumni support contribute to a learning environment designed to help every student achieve excellence.

Bryan Station is proud to be the home of the district's only Air Force JROTC program, the high school continuation of the Spanish Immersion Program, an Informational Technology Academy, and the StationARTS fine arts program.
