Yates Elementary School was built in 1954 and was named for Dr. Earl Yates, who had been a member of the Fayette County School Board. The school was last renovated in 1984 and repainted in 2008. On the north side of Lexington, Yates sits on more than 12 acres of land with playgrounds for primary and intermediate students as well as a walking track. We offer a math intervention program and a reading recovery program to students who need extra support. We also offer Chinese to our primary students.
