Built in 1979, Millcreek is a Reading First and Title I school committed to developing the expertise of the professional and para-professional staff to teach reading and other content areas to a high level. We also serve a diverse community, which is one of the school's valuable attributes.
Millcreek’s primary program (K-3) places a heavy emphasis on learning to read and provides for two to three hours of literacy instruction each day. The school also has moved to a more investigative math (Math in Focus) and science curriculum that requires higher-level thinking and writing skills.

What makes our school special
The Millcreek PTA has a history of outstanding support and involvement in the school, having twice been named the outstanding PTA for the state of Kentucky.
Millcreek also partnered with the PTA, city council, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, University of Kentucky and the school district office to restore the natural creek behind the school for an outdoor classroom.
