Ashland Elementary School, built in 1916, was named for Henry Clay's nearby home. The building was torn down in 1971, and a new building was completed on the same site in August 1972. A playground was constructed in the fall of 1993, and the school was renovated in 2000. The attractiveness of the school site enhances all aspects of the instructional programs.

An innovative and creative Arts Team integrates the arts into the curriculum on a five-day rotation as well as an additional hour on F.A.C.T. Friday (Fine Arts Cultural Tract). Our five-day gifted program for grades 3-5 adds to fabric and diversity of Ashland. It's a place where children thrive as individuals and feel successful.

What makes our school special

Ashland is unique because of its integration and in-depth study of the arts. Students benefit from studies in dance/drama, art, chorus, keyboarding, orchestra and band. Also, children and staff participate in two schoolwide programs (fall and spring) held down the street in Norsworthy Auditorium at "It's About Kids" Support Services.
