School-Based Decision Making (SBDM)

Super Council

Super Council is a process designed to allow representatives form every SBDM council in the district to assemble and enhance the knowledge and information base of their respective school councils through networking, and exposure to the most current information from KDE and the district.

What: Opportunity for district’s councils to share and obtain important information pertaining to the work that they do and their areas of responsibilities. Additionally, this affords an opportunity for concerns and questions to be addressed.

Where: IAKSS Conference room C.

When: Please see meeting schedule on the web.

Who: Each council within the district is requested to send a minimum of 2 members (we strongly recommend one or more members be parents). These sessions will afford parents a special opportunity to learn more about how councils operate from teachers, parents, principals, superintendent, and district liaison.

Additionally, representatives will report and share information with their perspective councils. They may also be asked by their councils to bring information, questions, and concerns to “Super Council”.

Some Meeting Particulars:

  • Welcoming from the Superintendent.
  • Purpose.
  • Group will discuss basic format of the meetings including generation of topics and addressing questions, concerns, and sharing opportunities.
  • Group will determine frequency of meetings…dates and times.

Questions may be directed to Tanya Dailey or Vince Mattox.
