The School Nurse Program is a program of Student Support Services n cooperation with the Fayette County Health Department Michelle Beverly, Associate Director of Student Support Services Michelle Marra, Health Coordinator School Nurse Program
The Fayette County Health Department in cooperation with the Fayette County Public Schools provides nursing services to 54 Fayette County Schools. All school nurses can be reached through their Health Department office at 288-2314. School nursing servicesHealth appraisalContinuous health supervision including case management of students with chronic health care conditions such as diabetes, asthma, seizure disorders, severe allergies. Monitoring of required Physical Examinations Monitoring of required Immunizations and T.B. Skin Test Communicable disease control, monitoring, and consultation Screenings: Vision; Scoliosis and Postural Crisis and First Aid Care Handicapped Services: Intermittent catheterization; tracheostomy care; postural drainage; gastrostomy tube care. Assist with occupational and physical therapy referrals; health screenings for placement of behaviorally disturbed students; and neurological examinations.
