2020 Vision
History of the 2020 Vision project
In the spring of 2005, the Fayette County Board of Education put out a call to our community to help "change the face of education in Fayette County." On May 9, 2005, our community answered that call when more than 1,300 people gathered to begin an effort to ensure that every student in the Fayette County Public Schools receives a world-class education. Through this demonstration of civic will, the 2020 Vision project was born.
The project was made up of 21 work groups, each focusing on a different area of education. Through reflection and research, participants in this exciting initiative developed recommendations to chart the course for a top-notch school district.
