Two students at Eastside Technical Center have earned kudos from the Ohio Valley chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), which hands out Student Production Awards each spring.

As the PSA’s writer, videographer and editor, Lainey Geddes was tapped a winner in the Public Service Announcement category for her entry “They’re Not Just Words.” An honorable mention went to Tanner Fisher as producer, videographer and editor of “Let Go,” which competed in the Long Form Non-Fiction category. The Student Production Awards will be presented at the Emmy ceremony Aug. 2 at the Hilton Downtown Columbus in Columbus, Ohio, as the Ohio Valley chapter celebrates its 50th anniversary.

Lainey and Tanner are students of multi-media production teacher Michelle Rauch at Eastside. Lainey also received a Student Production Award in 2013 for her hard news story “Smoke-free campus, or is it?”
