FCPS students show up strong at regional science fair

Fayette County Public Schools ruled the day at the 2013 Central Kentucky Regional Science and Engineering Fair on the UK campus March 2. 

In the high school division, Paul Laurence Dunbar swept the overall awards with Vincent Cao taking first place, Jessie Li in second, and Petra Ronald at third. The middle school competition (grades 5-8) was led by Amanda Wallin and Brenna Wallin of Lexington Traditional Magnet School. Tops in the fourth-grade field were Graham Wilson of Athens-Chilesburg, Sreerenjini Surendran of Glendover and Brayden Mefford of Sandersville Elementary.

The 11th annual statewide Kentucky Science and Engineering Fair is scheduled for March 30 at Eastern Kentucky University.
