Two snow days = two make-up days

Since Fayette County Public Schools were closed Jan. 25 and Feb. 1 because of inclement weather, the district will use the first two weather make-up days that were built into the 2012-2013 calendar in order to recoup the instructional time.

Schools will now be in session Feb. 8 and May 21. The original FCPS academic calendar called for students to be off those dates, but designated them as “possible weather make-up days.” The change does not affect the last day of school, which is still scheduled for May 24.

If needed, other possible weather make-up days include May 28-31, June 3-7 and June 10-14. High school graduation dates will not be set until after the threat of bad weather has passed and all make-up days have been set.
