FCPS to use phone alert system for weather calls

Each winter, Fayette County Public Schools reminds students and their families of the district’s procedures and decision-making process when treacherous weather conditions affect daily routines.

The biggest change this year is FCPS will begin using a phone alert notification system in addition to posting announcements on the district’s website, Channel 13, Facebook, Twitter and through the local media.

Another change is that on days when school is delayed, zero-hour classes and technical school schedules remain the same – just one or two hours later than normal.

These details and more are posted at www.fcps.net/weather. For questions, contact FCPS spokeswoman Lisa Deffendall.
