Henry Clay High School is one of three grand prize winners in the nationwide Henkel Helps Get Kids Fit contest.

More than 2,000 schools were nominated, with 15 making the cut as finalists. The winners best answered the question: “What would your school do with $10,000 to improve youth fitness?” They also created two-minute videos describing their proposals.

Henry Clay plans to invest in newer and better equipment for CrossFit training and to certify more staff and even students as CrossFit instructors. The other winners were an elementary in Alabama and a middle school in Maryland.

All schools can help fight childhood obesity by joining the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s Healthy Schools Program, which partnered with Henkel to fund the contest.
