Calendar art winners on display at Explorium

The 14 winning entries in this year’s FCPS calendar art competition are on display during August at the Explorium of Lexington.
The children’s museum will host a free opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5 with light refreshments.
Visitors can access the art gallery through any of the Victorian Square entrances or the main door at 440 W. Short St. The summer hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and admission is free. Starting Aug. 15, the gallery will be closed on Mondays along with the Explorium.
The art contest winners are featured in the school district’s 2011-2012 calendar and family handbook, which will be distributed to students and staff during the first week of school.
