Gov. Steve Beshear has assembled an impressive task force of dedicated community members, educators and state leaders to examine ways to improve education throughout Kentucky. But they want to hear from you!
At 7 p.m. Aug. 17, there will be 10 concurrent public forums around the state. “TEK Talk: Community Forums to discuss Transforming Education in Kentucky” will be followed at 8 p.m. by a live panel discussion on KET with the governor and the first lady, Jane Beshear; Education Commissioner Terry Holliday; and Bob King, president of the Council on Postsecondary Education.
This initiative will serve as a catalyst to improve public support for our local school systems. Recommendations from the public forums will be considered during the 2011 legislative session.
The Central Kentucky forum will be in Cooper Auditorium at Bluegrass Community & Technical College, 470 Cooper Drive (two doors down from KET; access from Sports Center Drive). Registration begins at 6:15 p.m. Please make plans to attend.
