This is the 18^th year in which the 16^th District PTA will award scholarships to outstanding students in Fayette County Public Schools. Seniors at the five high schools, the two technical centers, Martin Luther King Jr. Academy, The Learning Center at Linlee and Opportunity Middle College are invited to apply.

The scholarships are based on need, on school, extracurricular or work activities, and on overall GPA. Award amounts vary depending on donations; however, the PTA’s standing rules mandate a minimum $500 award.

All student applicants will be contacted by May 9 with results of the review committee’s decision. Winners will be announced May 19 at the PTA’s annual spring luncheon.
