A PSA created by Savannah Dickson, a senior a Tates Creek High School, won first place in the National Eating Disorders Association’s annual contest. The theme was “It’s time to talk.”
Savannah, who has battled anorexia, received a $200 prize and a trip to New York City to attend NEDA’s benefit dinner. Her 30-second public service announcement will also be shared at the association’s annual conference in Los Angeles this October.
Savannah, who plans to attend Eastern Kentucky University, has organized a support group at Tates Creek High. The girls meet several times a month to talk about body image, peer pressure and nutrition.
