Fayette County Public Schools offers programs that foster higher achievement, fuel hotbeds of creativity and provide an array of educational choices that focus on students’ specific needs, interests and abilities.
The district’s magnet schools include such options as Spanish immersion and individually prescribed education, while the gifted and talented programs provide the highest level of service in creative and performing arts, math, science, general intellectual ability and specific academic aptitude. FCPS also has specialized academic programs in several high schools.
Admission to magnet schools and gifted and talented programs is by application only. The application window is Sept. 1 to Oct. 15 for the 2011-2012 school year:
