Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass is a nonprofit organization that partners with volunteers from the business community to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.

Volunteers teach elementary students about financial literacy and their roles as individuals, workers and consumers, and they prepare middle and high school students for key economic and workforce issues they may face.

All materials provided by Junior Achievement are developed specifically for each grade level. JA also trains its volunteers.

Volunteers visit K-5 classes five times with 30- to 45-minute lessons. The sessions generally are once a week, but the schedule can be as flexible as the volunteer and the teacher need it to be. For grades 6-12, the volunteer visits the classroom six or seven times for 45- to 60-minute sessions.
