Everyone has one last chance to enjoy “Horse Play” before the schools’ public art projects are auctioned this winter.
The colorful statues are on display at the Kentucky Horse Park through December as part of the 17th annual Southern Lights, a driving tour through miles of sparkling holiday lights and attractions. The foals and horses are within the International Museum of the Horse, with the larger ones on a covered porch outside the Clubhouse Restaurant.
Horse Play for Arts Education was an offshoot of Horse Mania 2010, both of which were tied into this fall’s Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. The students’ statues will be sold at auction in January, with the proceeds divided among each school’s art program, Lexington’s Youth Arts Council and related programs.
