‘Horse Play’ auction set for March 5

The foals in the public art installation “Horse Play,” which were decorated by Lexington students, will be auctioned this Saturday, March 5.
The nearly 60 painted fiberglass horses will be on display from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Downtown Arts Center, 141 E. Main St., across from the public library. Admission is $5; it’s free for ages 12 and younger.
The auction party, which includes heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, will run 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $35, or $500 for a corporate table.
Five percent of the auction proceeds will go to LexArts, with the rest divided between the school where the foal was created and youth arts education programming through LexArts and its Youth Arts Council.
