The Kentucky Directors of Pupil Personnel have designated Thursday Sept. 16 as “High Attendance Day” across the state to remind everyone of the importance of students being in class every day.
“In Fayette County, we recognize and value the support offered by everyone in our community in promoting and celebrating regular school attendance. High Attendance Day is a day that the schools, students and parents can make a special effort to show support for their school and the importance of education! After all, attending school will ‘open the doors to the world’ for our kids,” said Diana Cromer, director of Pupil Personnel.
As incentive, the Kentucky elementary, middle and high school with the highest percentage attendance this Thursday will each receive $500. Awards will be determined statewide based on each individual school’s performance.
