This spring, two more students were accepted into the Davidson Young Scholars program, making a total of six current participants from Fayette County Public Schools.
Beaumont seventh-grader Joanna Slusarewicz and Meadowthorpe third-grader John Adkins join Taylor Bagley of SCAPA at Bluegrass, Athena Kern of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, Bailey Knight of Maxwell Spanish Immersion Magnet School and Ethan Smith of Tates Creek High School in receiving individualized support designed to nurture them intellectually, socially and emotionally.
Applicants to the Davidson Institute for Talent Development must demonstrate evidence of extreme intellectual precocity with scores at or above the 99.9th percentile on specific intelligence and achievement tests.
The Nevada-based institute provides consulting services, educational planning and advocacy, talent development, child and adolescent development, an online community and an annual summit. For more details, visit www.DavidsonGifted.org/YoungScholars.
